Florence & accomodations close to the venue

Transports (bus/tram):
Distance in Florence downtown is really reduced. However, information on bus service are on www.ataf.net.
Buy the ticket (1,2€ for 90 minutes) before boarding on the bus in ‘Tabacchi’, kioscos, bars who show ‘Ataf tickets’ at the entrance or by SMS (text: Ataf) to the number +394880105 (1,5€ for 90 minutes) or from the bus driver (2 € for 90 minutes) .
4 travels ticket is cheaper (4,7€) and easier for travelling more than once per day.

How to reach Florence downtown:
By train: the main train station Santa Maria Novella is in the centre of Florence. Information on trains on Trenitalia webpage.

From Florence Airport: Florence has one Airport called ‘Peretola’ or ‘Vespucci’. It is located in the Northen part of the town and Shuttle buses connect the airport to the central train station Santa Maria Novella (6€ one way; 10€ return ticket).

From Pisa Airport: we suggest the easy connection by Terravision bus service or Autostradale which connect the airport to Florence city centre (Santa Maria Novella train station) (tickets around 5€).
Otherwise: first, from the airport you have to get the main train station (Pisa Centrale) by local bus or train from Pisa Airport. It takes about 5-10 minutes.
In Pisa Centrale train station you can take the train to Firenze Santa Maria Novella (about 1 hr).

From Bologna Airport: get the Shuttle bus (6€ one way, 10€ return ticket) to the main train station Bologna Centrale. Several fast trains reach Florence in 40 minutes (about 24€ one way). An alternative is Appennino shuttle from Bologna Airport direct to Florence: http://www.appenninoshuttle.it/

From Roma Fiumicino Airport: the airport is well connected to Roma Termini train station by several shuttle bus companies (5€ one way) but the trip takes one hour.
Leonardo Express train connects Fiumicino Airport to Roma Termini station in half an hour about every 30 min. (cost: 14€).
Then, from Roma Termini station you can get fast trains that reach Florence in about 1 hour and half.
